Referrals

A valid referral from your General Practitioner or specialist is required to access Medicare rebates for your consultation.

Referrals can be sent by:

• Electronic referral

• Secure messaging

• Medical Objects

• Fax

• Email (where appropriate)

Please include any relevant imaging, pathology results, hospital discharge summaries, and previous specialist correspondence to assist with triaging your appointment.

Urgent referrals are welcome and will be prioritised where clinically appropriate.

Fees

Dr Harinesan provides specialist consultations in private practice.

As a private practice, consultation fees apply. Fees vary depending on the type of appointment, consultation complexity, and consulting location. Medicare rebates are available for eligible patients with a valid referral.

If you would like information regarding consultation fees or expected out-of-pocket costs, please contact the consulting rooms when making your appointment. Our staff will be happy to provide current fee information and answer any questions before your visit.

Neurophysiology Testing

Fees for neurophysiology investigations, including EMG, nerve conduction studies (NCS), EEG, single fibre EMG (SFEMG), visual field testing (VFT), and evoked potentials, may vary depending on the test being performed and the practice location.

Our reception team can provide fee information when your appointment is booked.

What to Bring

Please bring:

• Your referral

• Medicare card

• Private health insurance details (if applicable)

• Current medication list

• Relevant scans (MRI, CT, X-rays)

• Previous specialist letters and test results

• Glasses or hearing aids if required

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please notify the consulting rooms as early as possible. This allows another patient to be offered the appointment. A cancellation fee may apply for late cancellations or missed appointments in accordance with the individual practice policy.
